The Commission report was launched by commissioner Jo Platt, GM mayor Andy Burnham and Co-op CEO Steve Murrells on 27 January 2020.

Mayor Andy Burnham welcomed the Commission report and its recommendations, commenting that he would like to implement all of them. He has also invited the Commission to continue to meet and to act as an implementation group to assist GMCA in bringing the recommendations to fruition.
